Based in Spring Township Berks Schuylkill Respiratory Specialists Ltd. entered into a strategic partnership with Health able to pay designed to offer its patients savings on their out-of-pocket medical expenses.

Berks Schuylkill Respiratory Specialists focuses their practice on pulmonary medicine, asthma and sleep, and conducts clinical research trials. “At Respiratory Specialists Ltd., our mission is to improve the health of the communities we serve while working with others who share our commitment to providing high quality, competitively priced health care services,” Philip Seluchins, chief operating officer, Berks Schuylkill Respiratory Specialists, said in a statement. “When we saw the AblePay platform, we immediately recognized the financial impact it will have for our patients and the practice.”

As part of this partnership, Respiratory Specialists will bring the AblePay model to its patients.

“Partnering with AblePay not only provides their patients with savings on their out-of-pocket medical expenses, but also provides the flexibility to decide how they wish to pay for these expenses based on their individual financial needs,” said John Fistner, Founder and CEO of ‘AblePay in a statement. He added that the program also reduces collection costs for medical providers, “allowing us to improve the financial well-being of patients while improving the financial well-being of the provider.”

Healthcare consumers can sign up for AblePay’s free program, which offers flexible and convenient payment terms with a high level of member support, the company said in a press release announcing the partnership.

“The business model works to help both healthcare providers and consumers, strengthening that relationship while benefiting the communities they serve,” the statement said.

According to information on the AblePay website, the program is available to consumers with primary health insurance in place — including Medicare — to set up payment options for partner providers.
